They believe they have been forgiven of their sins, and living a sinful life does not affect their hope of Salvation. However, they don’t realize that their souls remain unclean and unrighteous, needing transformation through a daily renewal with God’s word and the cleansing power of the blood of Jesus Christ.

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age…”
Also, in John 3:3, Jesus Christ told Nicodemus about the importance of salvation.
Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
